Projects made with embedXcode
Office Chairiot MK-II
Just imagine: an office chair running up to 20mph or 30 km/h!
Andy built it. "The Office Chairiot Mark II was born out of laziness and the fact that my employer didn't care if I motorized my office chair. I've spent that past year-and-a-half perfecting what you see today. It's not even complete, yet!"
The firmware is written in C++ in Apple's Xcode IDE which is made to play nicely with Arduinos and other embedded boards by a killer utility called, "embedXcode" from Rei Vilo Hobbies. embedXcode reconfigures Xcode to make Arduino development (among other embedded environments) super easy to do in Xcode.
The project includes 3 boards: 2 Arduino Mega2560 and a Arduino Pro Mini328. There are over 7400 lines of C++ code, so why embedXcode?
For the developer, "This is would be a nightmare in the Arduino IDE. There are so many classes with so many members that I can't keep track of them all. Thanks to Xcode's file indexing, code completion and syntax advanced highlighting, that's not a problem at all."
